1. Direction for Perfection

2. Mirror Mirror go Away!
Vaastu Shastra says that there should not be any mirror in the study room. Mirrors give the misconception of the workload being double of what it actually is. This may create unnecessary tension and stress for the person who is studying.
3. Study tableHere comes the machine for studies! Study room is nothing without a study table and therefore its placement is very significant. It should be placed in such a manner that the student is facing north or east while studying as it enhances concentration. Apart from the placement, one should also ensure that the study table is not sticking to the wall. There should be at least a distance of 3-4 inches between the wall and the study table. This is because if there will not be ample space in front of the child, it will hinder the growth of new ideas. On the other hand, there should be a solid wall behind the student as it ensures he will get constant support which he requires. The shape of the study table is suggested to be rectangular or square in shape and should be of medium size. This is because too small a table, it will cause discomfort while studying and too big a table, it will affect the performance and capability of the student in a negative way.
4. Lighting Struck!
Proper lighting of the study room is pivotal for concentration and the potential to study. Dim lights should always be avoided as they hinder the focus of the student. Sunlight symbolizes positivity and thus, the windows of the study room should be in the north or east of the room. Table lamps are also a source of bright light which can be used for concentration. It should be kept on the south east side of the table.
5. Bookshelves and Cabinets
As you may have noticed by now that the favourite directions of studies are North, east and northeast! Bookshelves also follow the same path and demand to be placed in the same directions! Cleanliness being the most important, the bookshelves should not be cluttered and scattered with books as they cause uncalled-for confusion. Placing bookshelves above the study table is a common practice which be totally avoided because it brings needless or dispensable stress to the student.
6. Bring Colours (not)! As appealing as bright colours may seem to be, but they should be avoided for the study room. Walls of the study room should be painted in light colours such as white, light green, blue, cream etc. These light colours are considered auspicious and help in building the retention and memory power of the child.
7. shape the roomIf possible, preferably the study room should be of pyramidal shape to get desired and positive outcomes as per Vaastu rule for study rooms. But sometimes it is not possible so you can go for the usual rectangular and square shapes.
